Great portraits provide a window into the subject’s character and personality. Whether your desire is to celebrate a love or to honor an accomplishment, I do my best to capture the likeness and the spirit of the subject.

Sculpture Portraits may be done via sittings at my studio in Poway, California (San Diego area), or from photos or video. Travel to your location can be arranged depending on our mutual schedules.

If we create the portrait in person, the first session usually lasts about one hour where I take a few photos and measurements, and we agree on the the style, the and the feelings you wish to convey.

When sculpting remotely, or posthumously, the initial discussions are similar — just provide any images and video. We’ll correspond over email and I will also provide private links to the work in progress.

Prices vary depending on the size, complexity and medium. A typical life-size bronze bust on a beautifully polished granite base ranges from $5k to $10k USD (see the Matt Bancroft bust as an example). Smaller works, reliefs, fired terracotta are less expensive.

I can also create full body works of any scale or create custom garden and fountain elements, medallions, couples, etc.

If you would like to discuss this, ask questions, with no obligations at all, just drop us an email at: studio@richardbecker.com
